WRITER WORKSHOPS

*DON'T JUST SIT THERE--DO SOMETHING*

In her presentation, Don’t Just Sit There – DO Something, Carol Peterson shows writers how activity writing can help sell and promote fiction and open up new non-fiction markets. Part of the workshop will involve interactive brainstorming with attendees for ideas for articles they could propose to children’s magazines.

*COMBINING FICTION AND NON-FICTION FOR THE WIN*

Writers are either fiction writers or non-fiction writers. Or both. But never in the same project. Wrong! This workshop will focus on combining fiction and non-fiction in the same piece. The first half of the workshop will discuss using fiction techniques when writing straight non-fiction. The second half will show writers how to combine both genres in the same piece, for an unforgettable story that will wow both kids and editors.
